On November 11, I joined my fellow bloggers at SM Lanang Premiere to witness the lighting of their Royal Christmas christmas tree.
Let me walk you through SM Lanang Premiere's "A Royal Christmas, 2012".
The program was held in SM Lanang's spacious event center. The stage was set up right beside the 40 foot christmas tree. It was a sight to behold, let me tell you.
The tree towered high over everyone, it's leaves adorned with what looked like mini-chandeliers and regal looking lights, flowers and christmas balls. At the top, a magnificent and unique looking star is perched, completing the tree. Dominating with a color purple, the christmas tree screamed royalty.
Welcoming the guests to the event were none other than Santa's Little Helpers! Jolly fellows that were taller than how I imagined the little helpers to be. Tall or short, they did a splendid job on greeting guests.
While everyone waited for the program to start, the music of the Manila String Machine filled the air. They played christmas songs on their string instruments exquisitely.
After a song performance by the host/singer, the program began. A Christmas Message was delivered by Miss Debby Go, AVP, to properly open the ceremonies. The program was filled with songs and dances.
The SM Cares Bears was also introduced. You get two cares bears for only 100 pesos. One to keep for yourself, and one to hang on the Christmas Bear Tree. You will be given a certificate acknowledging your sponsorship. The proceeds and the cares bears will be donated to several charitable institutions nationwide. This event is not only exclusive to SM Lanang Premiere but is open at ALL SM Branches! What a great way to share our blessings this Christmas!
And so, the program progressed until it was time for the finale. The lighting of the Royal Christmas Christmas Tree.
Miss Margarita Morán-Floirendo, one of the guests who graced the event, was tasked to do the lighting of the tree.
Accompanied by ballerinas, she walks her way to the foot of the majestic tree, carrying with her the wand that will bring the tree to life.
And with one, two, three swishes of her wand...
The tree is lit. Confetti started raining down on everyone as the tree lit up.
It was a very happy moment. I mean, having a 40 foot tree light up and confetti snowing down on everyone is a very happy christmas-y event!
But Christmas isn't Christmas without...
Santa Claus!
Yup! Santa Claus was a special guest during the event!
I should have known that he was coming, though. The elves were a big give-away!
And so, Santa sits at his throne at the foot of the tree... with gifts piled up on his left and right.
The children lined up, waiting patiently to receive their gifts from Saint Nicholas himself!
It was a totally joyous event that SM Lanang Premiere held. I'm sure everyone went away with smiles on their faces.
I only had one wish that night, though. To line up with the kids and tell Santa my Christmas wish.
I guess I'll have to try my luck some other time!
Remember, if you're ever at an SM branch, to look for the SM Cares Bears stall and get yourself a bear and hang one on the Christmas Bear Tree! Your 100 pesos and a bear can go a long way.
